The short answer
When only one TV pixelates in the rain, look at the cable run feeding that TV. A poor connector, water getting into a join, a damaged cable or a long run of low-quality cable fails first in wet weather. A dish that is slightly off normally affects every TV.
Each decoder in an Extra View setup has its own cable run. The main TV may use a short, healthy run, while the second TV uses a longer one with more joins. Wet weather exposes weak points in the second run first. If every TV fails together, the problem is more likely the dish or the LNB. See our E48-32 guide.
Poor cable loses signal along the run, and a long run makes it worse. Ask your installer to use proper RG6 coaxial cable with a solid copper centre. Cheaper cable with a copper coating over aluminium can corrode and perform worse over time. Keep runs as short and direct as the layout allows.
Tape is only a temporary patch. Moisture usually gets back in.
Water in a damaged connector or cable changes how the signal travels, so faults show up when it is wet.
If every TV fails together, it is more likely the dish or the LNB.
Only temporarily. Have the connectors replaced and sealed properly.
It can, especially with poor cable, because the signal weakens along the run.
A connector is usually cheaper than a new cable run. Ask for a quote, and see our cost guide.
