The short answer
Home automation is priced by scope and wiring, not by brand. A starter set of lights and plugs costs far less than a wired whole-house system. Costs come from the devices, the hub, the installation labour, the wiring and backup power, so ask for an itemised quote and phase the project.
| Scope | What it usually includes | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | A few smart lights or plugs, controlled from a phone | A decent router and a small backup |
| Mid-range | Smart switches, sensors, scenes and a hub, plus some geyser or pump control | An electrician for mains-level devices |
| Whole-house | Wired control, central hub, cameras and energy monitoring | Planning, wiring and professional installation |
We don’t publish fixed prices because every home is different. Ask us for an itemised quote.
You don’t have to do everything at once. Start with the network and hub, then add rooms over time. Choose standards that let you expand. See Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter or Wi-Fi?
Tell us your home, your goals and your budget. We will quote the devices, labour and backup separately so you can compare. See our home automation installations in Sandton, Fourways and Edenvale.
It depends on scope. You can start small and add to it.
