Error codes are DStv’s way of telling you whether the problem is signal, subscription, smartcard or Extra View linking. E16 falls under subscription. See our full DStv error code list to compare.
DStv’s own self-service tools, which include the MyDStv website and app, can clear many subscription and smartcard codes. The exact steps change, so use DStv’s official website and support channels. Never give your login details, PINs or one-time passwords to anyone who contacts you.
If the code stays after payment, a restart and the self-service tools, contact DStv. Installers fix signal and cabling problems, not accounts. If you also see a signal error, read the E48-32 guide and have an installer check the dish and cable.
No. E16 is a subscription message. A signal fault shows a different code, such as E48-32.
Payments can take a few minutes to reach your decoder. Switch channels, restart the decoder and try again before you contact DStv.
Channels outside your package show a scrambled message even while the rest of your channels work.
